Guys and ladies,
I will be in your area in October for a wedding and will be renting a home for a week. Can you tell me what kind of fishing will be going on at that time? I like in shore beach and fresh. I will do pretty much anything as long as I get a tug on my line. Thanks
You’ll be here in peak season for inshore fishing. The redfish, trout, flounder, sheephead and just about everything is in feeding mode preparing for winter. Bring a castnet as there should be plenty of bait in the creeks. ![]()

Finding inshore reds, trout, and flounder from shore (beach, as you said) can be a bit challenging. Breach inlet, between Sullivan’s Island and Isle of Palms, is a good place. Take some live mud minnows and also try to cast-net some live finger mullet. Don’t fish them deep, the reds will be shallow. I prefer a rising tide at Breech but it’s probably not critical.

Come to Folly Beach Pier. We caught these reds last year during that time.

You will have a great time of year for Surffishing. The Redfish will be in the surf and I’m talking some biggies. I have caught such a wonderful variety at that time of year. The mullet should still be in the surf and you can use Bluecrab, strip bait and I have caught some nice fish on shrimp. Best of luck
also expect whiting, toadfish, forty eleven species of shark, turtles, croaker, spot, bluefish, blue crab and blowfish…
