I am new to the forum. Great job on this. Extremely helpful. I have a Lowrance HDS 5 and want to buy a good map chip for inshore/near shore. Any suggestions???

I have a HDS 5 on one of my boats, and it came pre-loaded with all the detail I will ever need. If yours doesn’t have this then any of the Navionics HotMaps chips will work fine.
What maps did your unit come with. Fire it up and tell us what you see. You should have everything you need already loaded!
It came with a map loaded for the coastal area but no detail for lakes. I was just wondering if there were some other products like the Hot Maps products where one might be better than another. Just started fishing the Charleston area and kind of new to the inshore game. Went out one time with a good guide and hooked in to some nice reds and that was all it took. Love them RED FISH!!! I live in the Charlotte area and fish the lakes up here but this is a hell of alot more fun than beating the banks of Lake Norman for 2# large mouth.
