Chart Data?

Any input Navionics Input? Is there anywhere that you would like to see improved chart data such as satellite overlay, depth, anything missing, etc… Lets see if we can’t get some perfection if needed…

unless your building your own maps (insight genius) your basically paying for cmaps/fish/chips numbers or whatever government issues numbers are available. the navionics plat plus offers a little more but all in all the countor definition is still sub par… we are not in fl where they care…

honestly go simrad get gofree and start uploading and building your own maps they will be accurate and cover the area you will fish…

Navionics has Sonar Charts / Sonar Chart Logging. Same concept. You can help everyone by using Sonar Chart Logs or Sonar Chart Live (if your unit is compatible) to go into updates. Navionics puts out over 2,000 updates per day! You can help everyone by building your own and bettering maps using Sonar Chart Logging with Navionics, that is IF you are using Navionics Charts. Here is a link to Navionics’ sonar chart page for more info.

I’d like better detail along the ICW and backwater areas in regards to depth and creek and island names. I realize that the sources for this info is scattered and constantly changing but could be very helpful for us inshore guys exploring the marshes. Specifically, I fish from Georgetown to Wilmington, NC.

hears my issue with it… your paying navionics to build a map your already paying 170-220bux for… ive had 3 different charts from gold to plat from them… they all sucked… heck even island placement was way off… like I was running thru the end 4 inches of an island and was in 15ft of water…

as far as helping the community did you look at insight genius?? because it has open available maps that people have built already… it gives the square acrage of that persons map that is available.

those 2000 daily updates have yet to trickle in our area… heck I went a year on my last gold card with maybe 2 updates… those 2 updates did absolutely nothing for my area… and I wasfishing a government maintained shipping channel…

again your best bet is to use the software in your plotter… be it simrad, lowrance ect ect… get a microsd card and start recording the areas you fish. than upload to the program build the mapping yourself… I think premium software where it will show vegetation and such is 30bux… navionics you have to buy a rediculious expensive card that you are now building on your own. and than on top of it they are basically selling you your work…

if your worried about numbers allot of the government numbers are gpx filed and can be uploaded directly… and these are t

sc_shark, obviously you like insight genius. That’s fine, every brand has it’s own dedicated followers and customers. I’m just posting, trying to help the Navionics guys. Navionics isn’t going anywhere and I fish with and know most guys that use some sort of Navionics product. Just reaching out for Navionics input. Tight lines and cheers.
