me and the Cuz met stickman at his place at 0630 and headed out in his new 223 Everglades fishing machine…this boat just screamed sexy…
put in at Folly, headed out Stono and on our way to reelhunter’s “secret BSB numbers” near the Charleston 60…dropped some squid to no avail so we then headed to Top2Bottom1’s secret numbers and it was game on…my first ever keeper BSBs were caught in this grand spot…matter of fact I think I even had a double keeper once or twice…we fished a pound of squid drifting and boated 21 fish 12.5" to around 14"…prolly caught 3 times as many fish just under the limit…we had a grand time with the doubles and it didn’t take 10 seconds to hook up once we dropped to the bottom…stickman broke a rod and still caught fish!
around 1100 hours we decided to find some structure and fish our reelhunter guranteed fiddlas for some convicts around the Chas 60…dropped in a few different areas but we never boated the first sheep…I know we got sheep bites but we never even hooked up with one…stickman’s confidence in Bonzo and Cuz’s sheep catchin ability went downhill quickly so we decided we had had an awesome day and headed for the hill…
water temp 58
slight S wind early…SW 10 mph on the return trip
absolutely perfect conditions with slight 1’ swell on a ton of seconds
thank you stickman for an awesome day…and I promise you we will get on the sheeps very soon! your boat is one of the nicest I’ve ever fished…
let’s have a look at some pics…
flat calm just after daybreak…
stickman messed with the equipment as much as he fished
Nice catch Bonzo. Looks like you got some fatty’s there. We couldn’t get much with size as well. As water warms and we venture further we’re sure to put some slabs in the boat.

got your email Sandy…would you just bring it this coming weekend? I won’t need it anytime before then…
glad you had as much fun as we did…see you Friday!
animal cruelty sucks…unless his lip hurts cause there is a 1/0 Owner Aki hook with a chinaback stuck in it
we went friday and sunday, BSB both times. i know we got picked by a couple sheeps at the charleston nearshore when we tried fiddlers on the barge, but most of our fishing was drifting live bottom in 45-55’.
total for both days was one happy father-in-law, one seasick buddy, 31 BSB between 12.5 and 15", and about 10 releases for every keeper (~350 fish?). had there been anything more exciting than a whole bunch of seabastards, would’ve called you to report. sorry you guys missed out on the sheeps too- we need cameras like Capt Olsen!
y’all have a blast at the camping trip, really sorry i can’t make it. catch 'em up!
