Went out aug 21 and the birds and bait were everywhere, cudas on the buoys, saw sea turtles; but today went out to the nearshore and a few buoys and found a lifeless ocean; don’t know if it was the storm early in the week; water temp was down from 86 to 83.5; i went and bought some cuda tubes for cheap entertainment while looking for the man in the brown suit but no luck. Even the reef was slow and small picking. Did manage one stud croaker.
I had similar results on Wednesday. Fished all the way out to 90ft and not nearly as much bait and birds as usual. Water temp was between 84-86. Lots of floating debris. Pretty slow fishing as well and no real good catches to speak of. I was just out there bottom bumping by myself while doing a fuel burn test.
Huge tides, ripping current and lots of rain have made for dirty water and few fish.
