Chattooga River 7/15

Finally got some free time to go wet some flies on the chattooga this past thursday. It was the first time on this river for me. Went along with one of my roomates about 4:30pm to catch the afternoon and evening bite. After the hike down the trail i was ready to sit down and take a break, but after seeing the river I immediately proceeded to waist deep water. Started throwing the flies right at our access point up near some trees over deep water and had some small trout rolling on the flies, but not much to do there so we moved upstream and saw some nice size browns and couldnt cast to 'em in time before they noticed us and vanished in the stream. Continued to proceed further upstream and caught some small bass near a good rip, and had the roomate land a 10" rainbow. Nothing else for the rest of the day so we decided to head on out.

Had to go out of town for the weekend and the roomate went back to the stream by himself around 6am sunday morning and i got a call from him around 10am saying he landed a beautiful 19" brown trout on a daves hopper. Cant wait to get out there and do it again, tight lines.
