Chattooga river 8/11 and 8/12

Started fishing really early in the morning on the 11th around sunrise. The river was very clear and the bugs were bad, but it was a beautiful morning. Saw some decent fish rising really early, and even saw a few jump completely out of the water after some bugs, not really sure if they were trout but they were long and slender. caught a few small unidentified fish but no trout.

Went back the next day after the rain on the 12th in the evening and fished some really dirty water so decided to try some hopper flies and nymphs, but nothing would take them let alone look at them except a few small fish. So i decided to just throw every fly i brought with me, mostly mayfly imitations, royal humpy, parachute adams, caddis, and others, but not one bite. Ended the day with no fish but it was still fun being out there.

I dont know what it is, but it just seems like the fish arent there, but i know they are. Me and a buddy are planning on going early in the morning on monday and any suggestions on what to use will be greatly appreciated.
