Running high and fast made it really tough, no fish. Hopefully it won’t rain this week/weekend and the river will drop. Might hit the Davidson next weekend.
Took a ride up to the Parkway on Sunday and passed a lot of water. Tuck was up and you couldn’t fish it because of all the leaves in the current, French Broad looked ok and they have stocked the dh section and the Davidson looked all right. No rain in the forecast so might be good by mid week.

I feel your pain… I just posted my thread from this weekend and the leaves were crazy and the water came up a few inches on us in the couple of hours we fished it. Managed a 20" and a 12" rainbow and that was it.

I am heading to the Chattooga this weekend and hope to fish the DH section.
I have checked the flow.

Does anybody know what is too high to safely fish? It has been a long time since I have fished it.
Thanks for the help,
Chris
I am not sure about the CFS reading, but anything over 2 feet on the Clayton gauge will be tough. The good thing is it usually drops out pretty fast. Just keep an eye on it. Call the guys at Unicoi Outfitters in Helen and they will be able to give to up to date fishing reports on the DH.

It hasn’t rained since last weekend so the high water should be gone. Like mox said, it drops out fast. This weekend shuold be good stuff.
I appreciate the help. The guage is at 2.1 right now. Hopefully it will keep on dropping.
