Cheap Corn Anywhere?

Corn in my area sells for $9-10/bag (usually about 60 lbs) and it’s killin me. Does anybody know of any less expensive suppliers. I’m in the midlands, just north of Columbia.

I figure deer corn will be around 8$ and up depending on the area. Drought has it burnt slap up in most places.

yep, I’m afraid you are right:frowning_face:

picked a wagon yesterday, smallest yield I picked in a long time.

deer corn prices should mirror market price for corn, always did until corn went high and people who sell it found out people would pay 8-9 a bag.

When you factor in the aggravation of picking, bagging and dealing with cheap ass deer hunters looking for a deal, it's well worth just running the combine over it. Not to mention inputs have been increasing steadily for th past decade. The days of 5 dollar deer corn are long gone.

Richard lee Carter and his son Micheal are picking it and have some of the biggest ears I’ve seen around here. They are in Henderson and cob corn is $7.00 or was? Probably the best corn crop in Colleton county, or in the top ten.

Picking and bagging have always been a factor. But price is price. Bagging and picking corn is not worth an extra $4 over market price. But guys like to sell deer corn cause its under the table money.

Fishin’Coach was recently advertising some for sale. Whole ears I think. Send him a PM, I think he said he had 50 bags, that was a few days ago.

I quit raising chickens and pigs when the price of feed became higher than the price of eggs and pork chops. I honestly don’t know how farmers make a living, and I’m surrounded by them. Farming and fishing are hard ways to make a living. Got to love it.

About the same every year. Starts around $10 / bag and then settles around $8 as we go forward in the season. Unless, you have a farmer pretty much year over year that supplies you, then you’ll likely get the better price. Kinda supply vs demand issue this time of year.
I just paid $10 / bag @ Cainhoy feed. 10 bags and I’m good until our regular supplier kicks in and delivers.

Mystic knight I have cob corn for $7 a bag straight off the farm. This is the same price as last year for us. Located halfway between Camden and Bishopville. 803-272-2735 Tommy
