Tied this ugly green shrimp pattern the other night but had no rubber legs, dug thru my offshore gear and realized that I had like 50 different color combos from kingfish skirts, might be a cheaper option than the rubber leg individual packages in the shop.

Walmart has $1.00 bass spinner baits. The skirts are nothing but several rubber legs held on by a rubber band. Have lots of colors, too - yellow, chartreuse, black, white, red, blue, etc.
If you want even cheaper, you can get a 5’ strip of round rubber for cheap skirts (very similar to what you are talking about frenzy) from Janns Netcraft for about 1.50 if i remember right. I bought 2 strips of white, and i still havent came close to using it all.
Ditto that on the skirt materials, you can get flat strip rubber or silicon from several of the mail order & inter net sites. It’s a ton cheaper than the pre packaged fly shop materials with a lot more variety and color options.
