Cheap underwater and under rail leds

Came across these leds and thought I’d try them. They work great. They’re obviously not as bright as the $200 - $300 lights but they’re pretty close. $20 a piece is cheap enough too. Picture doesn’t do them justice. It was hard to get a good pic but this is the best I could do. What do ya’ll think?

The under-the-rail lights I used worked out great too. Cheap price.

i purchased some leds from them guys and they are fast and reasonable.the leds are on my boat now and are bright.the ones i ordered are the prewired superflux 4 chip leds/white.i was told from a few guys on there web that the ones mentioned above are reeeeaaalllll good.

Thanks. I checked out their site and ordered some green ones to wire into my center console down low for more “mood” lighting. Total cost incl shipping for 4 lights $33. Good deal

I wanted blue but by looking at the chart, green had the most lumens. I was scared the underwater lights wouldn’t “glow” enough so I went with green and they’re perfect.

Think they would be any good for giggin?

I think they’d suck for giggin’. A generator and H.P.S. lights are they ticket for stickin’ fish.

How do the wires go to your power source? Over the transom, or do you cut drill a hole through and the 4200 around the light?

This guy was custom making them on thehulltruth.com. http://coastalnightlights.com/Gen3-UW-Lights.html He has a lot of followers and are a good option.

Yours are definitely a cool find for a budget. Interested to see how long they hold up.

Mine are wired over the transom. They aren’t made to go through. Don’t know how long they will last. I know everyone bashes them for being cheap but I guess we’ll see how long they last. They generate no heat and hook straight to 12 volts. Couldn’t be simpler. I know they’re not as bright as any of the higher dollar lights but they still have the “look at me” effect. Haha. Minnows piled underneath them in the harbor 2 weekes ago. Did the whole boat (2 underwater, 2 under the rail, and 1 in the center console cubby) for $60. What can I say.

No…I’m with you, i think it is a good deal. Just not sure about routing them over the transom. I don’t think it would last too long for me.

FYI, I went to Autozone in the ethnic isle and you can get the same light strips for like $19.99. They come in blue, green, and white. I have these on my J16 for courtesy lights picking shrimp up at night. They lasted about 2 years but I installed them at the bottom of the console about an 1" off the deck and water often covered them. I’ve got a new set on already. It kind a makes you look like one of those cars with neon lights underneath with low profile tires but the LED’s put out a ton of light.
