25 day forecast is for above average temps. and several chances at rain. Although this is a long way out, their December forecast was fairly accurate. If it turns out to be true, the chances of any significant winter-kill of trout and hatchling redfish is greatly diminished once we turn the corner into February. 2013 trout fishing could be SCARY with another abnormally warm winter!
All I can think about is tailers in March haha

That is cool news. I know the previous kills have taken a long time to fully recover. Kudos to DNR for their catch and release suggestion in 2011 and the anglers that adhered to it. Proves to me that if you give anglers guidance to police themselves, without legislation, good results can happen!
I saw from 49+ to 52+ on flats. Cold enough for me!
My fingers are CROSSED!

is the DNR suggestion in 2011 one reason why this fall I often was catching 30-50 trout in the 12" to 14" range?
It’s obviously partly responsible, but nature added a gift of one of the mildest winters on record. After the last significant kill year in 2000, it took 3 years to get back to normal with average winter temps.

Till I saw this, I only had seen the forecast out to next weekend and it shows 70s. Thats very encouraging for mid January!!
If many people are catching 20" trout this year, wait till next… I can’t wait!! Knocking on wood!

Cap that slot at 20" and we’ll catch 'em all the time. I think that would make for an incredible gator fishery in Charleston. Plus add to the breeder stock in bad times.

while I certainly do not mind 70s in December I do wish we would have at least a little bit of winter this year…just enough to keep the bugs in check and get the shrimp back into their normal migration patterns…aw what the hell, bring on the 80s…
