Once again, we are going to Cherry Grove for our annual beach trip. We will be there towards the end of July. This year, for the first time, I am thinking about taking my boat. I am looking for suggestions about what/where/how to fish or am I wasting my time? I am not really interested in driving down to Murrell’s Inlet, so Little River or Hog Inlet seem to be my best bets. I’ve checked the tides and it will be high in the mornings at the beginning of the week to midday towards the end of the week. I have a 20’ bay boat so, with the right weather conditions, I could go offshore but not too far. Any ideas or thoughts are appreciated.

Good fishing at the jetties early and late(lots of boat traffic during the middle of the day).3 mile reef(Jim caudle)is holding nice flounder, spanish, spades, maybe a cobia and tons of little seabass.20 ft. boat you should be fine unless it’s really kicked up,like I said ,early or later in the day is best.Hope this helps.
Yes, it does help. Thanks for the information.

There is some good fishing to be had right now. There is a ton of bait, but mostly small, so you have to pick through it to find the good ones. I caught a slam Saturday AM in just a couple of hours. The jetties, 3 mile, Sherman, feeder creeks and the waterway are producing right now. I would definitely bring the boat. Oh yeah, there are always flounder and reds to be had in Cherry Grove. You just have to find them. Good look, and have a safe trip down!
