It has been a while since I have been to Cherry Grove. Planning to take the gang to Waties Island.
Is the big sandbar near the condos going to be visible enough that we will not encounter it or what should we expect? From google, it looks a lot bigger than what I remembered before.
It is amazing how much that place changes from year to year. Last year we caught a lot of fish along that rough bank behind the point, but this year, it is so shallow, it is almost unfishable. We went yesterday too. There were a lot of folks there, but I had great conversations with a few folks there. Met an insurance agent from the Charlotte area, and another guy from Lancaster. Very nice folks. My wife had a very relaxing time hanging out and just takin in the rays. Jonah and I caught tons of bait, and even went snorkeling in the poind behind Hog Island. We never made it back for the fireworks, though. We were all give out after a day of relaxation. Too bad I have to get back to work today. We were the Hewes LT flats boat with the 2 American flags flying from the poling platform.
Saturday afternoon - Noticed that there was a guy washing his boat at the landing. He brought his own hose and took up the space by the ramp for at least 30 min.
First, I thought it was awsome to have a restroom and fresh water at the landing. I fish Gtown and have never fished Hog Inlet before Sat.
Second, in my opinion, I thought it was inconsiderate of the guy to block the space and use the city’s fresh water to wash his boat. Now, I was new to the area so maybe that is a perk of using that landing. Also, others who wanted to use the water to wash feet, etc had to wait. Our group didn’t say anything as we were new to the landing and didn’t want to cause any trouble. If I worked for the city I would take a hack saw and cut the threads off of the faucet, problem solved.
Hey, Moorefish, youi are correct, and I would have talked some serious smack to the dude had I seen that. Noone has respect anymore. It is shameful that some think that “they” are the only thing that matters. Oh, how I wish it were back like it used to be where everyone was nice at the landing unless you went and got on someone’s “spot”. LOL Hope you enjoyed it up there.
