It’s a nice landing. We used it once awhile back. The only concern is the current and the wind. It’s an exposed landing so wind/current can be a problem.

Have to watch the shoals around there at low tide. Need to go almost straight out from the landing to stay in deeper water.

^^Yes, head straight out and then head to the inlet or left to Bohicket Marina.

Born and raised around this landing, and have not had any vehicle issues there in the past couple of years. New upgrades including new lighting has helped tremendously with that.

I love that boat landing. Listen to the above advice about the sandbars!

Lock your doors and burr the bolt ends on your trailer parts. Had winch and jack unbolted a while ago.

You might consider posting a sign on the driver’s window “Nothing of value inside vehicle”.

It was posted on one of the forums that some windows were busted out on some vehicles at the Sands landing and that apparently the lowlifes were looking for cash and weapons.

Have been going there for 40 years (more, if you count childhood)…and have never had a problem. But I don’t recommend going there… no fish whatsoever

What Bgf said - no fish anywhere in all that water. The fish are all up around Limehouse and Remley’s. No bait either. Save your gas and avoid Cherry Point at all costs. :smiley:

Got it!!!:wink::wink::smiley:

Take it slow from the landing. Head south towards the shrimp boats before you cross into deep water and NEVER EVER go to the north until you are in the channel way. Also once you pass Reds Ice House and make that first left there is a large sand bar right in the middle os the river before you get to the next right, at low tide it will find you if your not paying attention. I have seen a few center councles sitting there waiting for the tide to come back in.

Listen to oops and absolutely ignore the advice of to go straight out. Down creek parallel to the Rockville shoreline until in the channel and follow the markers in the channel. If you plan to go up the North Edisto, take the time to belly around the beacon tower coming out of the creek. Even though it’s 300 yards off the point, the water is skinny near low all the way to shore.
