Very long ride out. Started out a little slow had 6 by 10am. Found a good Temp break in 800ft and went through 7doz baits quick! at times 6 lines would go down and the drill was on. ran out of bait and they hit every artificial we put in front of them. Capt was catching them on top water plugs as we hauled them in the back. slingers and gaffers, not any huge fish but some of the most fun we have had in a long time trolling. boated over 40 and released a good many, not all intentional.
Temp break went from 71deg and 2ft chop to 74.5 and glass on the other side and didn’t see another boat for hrs while we fished that break. The ocean was covered in bait, more then I have ever seen! Got to hit the bed as Capt said the boat was leaving the dock at daylight for a trip the kill some grouper.
If it got any better I couldn’t stand it.
It was an awesome time indeed. I need to go buy a new vac sealer now so I can get all of this meat out of my fridge and into the big freezer. Cedar plug chains were tons of fun as long as we could keep them out of the weeds. Quite rough in the AM and I would have been wretching on the deck all day if I didn’t have the scop patch on. That thing is magic.
Also had one highspeed wahoo strike that was violent enough to immediately snap the main line. Gotta keep the drags as loose as possible.

Nothing to see here, move along. Eventually some sporties found us and were on it. Plenty to go around.
Awesome time and good luck on your dives today. I’d love to be there with you but this darn job thing keeps me land locked.
