What do the fish seem to prefer right now, herring or big shiners. Thanks for the help

You can get gizzard shad at 34 Bait & tackle on hwy 34 just past the intersection of hwy 176 toward Winnsboro for 1 mile or give Daron Doolittle a call at 803-405-1374. Lee this is not to far from your house. Good fishing:sunglasses:
I didn’t know 34 had bait. Is it live bait? What else bait wise to they have? Prices? I fish wateree mostly so would be a good option.
I used to buy alot of my shad from ned myself and still buy some when i dont have the time to catch it myself. I have really put some time into learning to catch it myself in the last yr. It’s really rewarding to catch your own then go out and catch nice fish with bait you caught yourself.
Some people love giz some dont. I tried to sell a bunch at the jan MSC tx. Had very little interest in them. Only sold enough to cover my gas to catch it. Which is all I really wanted to do anyway. Basically paid for me to have a good supply at the house…lol.

Usually I would get them from Ned’s (Betterbait down the street from Lake World) …
I have also gotten them from David (once) when he has them …
Well, since it’s out there now … I mainly get my Shad from Murraymaker particularly since Ned’s closed for the winter …

Jimmy Jones has them he is on hwy 321 in lowreys just outside of chester
try shinners in cold water like in jan. & feb. will out do herring. if you want to go for the trophy get a few gizzard shad.
