Chris V I Need advise. Or anyone

I have a Yam 115hp 07, Last night I tilted the motor up and this morninh I woke up to a puddle of some type of oily milky substance that had leaked from the black cover hse that leads into the motor. I checked all the possible problems. The steering, Tilt and trim, motor oil. None of this seemed to have a problem. I have asked around and no one believes there is anything that leads into the motor that carries this type of oil. I ran the boat all day today and nothing appeared to be hurting it. I am lost please someone help

Sounds like some residual oil mixed with water that you otherwise wouldnt see unless you tilted motor up. The water may just be dew or condensation…it doesnt take much moisture (water) mixed in with oil to get that milky appearance. Hopefully Chris or someone else can give you a better idea

The oil came from the black corigated pipe that covers the wires leading into the motor. I have not seen it since. It was like someone poured it in the black pipe and when the zip tie came lose the other day it all came pouring out.

Did someone spray the wires with lithium grease and it melted?

No this was alot of grease about a QT on the boat and on the ground.

sounds like an engine oil leak in the pan somewhere, and it mixed with water in the rigging tube, and dripped out when you tilted the motor up.
nothing else on the engine would have oil that high up.
you need to have that looked at
