Chris V..or anyone who might have had...

this happen.

Went out to load the boat sunday to take it for a ride. havent run it(except for cranking in the shed) in 8 weeks. get in it…go to raise motor…click-click-click sound coming from right sid eof motor…oes down with no problem…but will not go up…donnie comes out thinking it may be the relay witch in the motor…pulls cover off and tells me to turn wheel to make foot go to the left so he can see it better…turn wheel and feel a soft give and “pop” and then nothing…you can turn wheel to the left and motor turns…turn wheel to the right(spins easily) and it just spins with no movement from motor at all in that direction……had problems a while back with air in the lines and it got better…so what to do?? Called seels and they said 4 weeks or more before they can even look at it…donnie went and bought line and fluid to check that today…motor to heavy to raise by himslef so will have to wait till my dad comes over to help before he can look at everything…so question is…click=click means dead?? or could it be something else?? and what could “give” in the steering wheel that would cause it not to turn in one direction?? please give donnie a call if you get a minute…thanks

when it rains it pours:roll_eyes:

sorry, I just saw this
if the helm is low on fluid, it can get some rust and or corrosion in the valving.
it can cause the helm valves to stick
