Chris, I spoke to you on Tuesday about a water pump and you sent me over to John , he was a great help, The piece I was trying to describe was the drive shaft bushing, it had come out and shreaded and sat on the pump housing, anyway I replace the whole kit but the housing cover, I also put in the new bushing and clip, Today I went to landing to test, Started great, ran great, however the piss stream was about the same as before, soft no force, very hot in idle and nuetral, and cool in faster speed. All seemed well and then I let it sit in very low gear like bait casting speed and after about four mins It shut of and hot light came on, started right back up and ran fine again. John told me not to replace the thermostat untill tested, I put it in boiling water and it popped nice and slow. Anyway Just wondering about three things

Why still getting hot at slow or idle and should I replace the thermostat anyway. Also any idea on what would destroy the bushing on the shaft. Thanks for not blowing me off, I know you were in salvage mode and all. Hope you guys got it out of the drink …

you really dont want to hear this…

those suzuki motors have alot of issues with internal corrosion.
I have 3-4 of them laying around here at teh shop that are dead due to internal corrosion issues.
pull the t-stat, and let it run on the hose, and see how much water comes out teh hole.

I hate it when Chris starts a response with “You really don’t want to hear this” – It always cost money!
