Found a 14’ alumacraft with a 20 hp evenrude. Both are 1994 models and the guy wants 1500 for them. I know for a fact motor runs good and boat is in good shape for its age. Without seeing it can you guestimate its value?
Yeah trailer included. Thnks Chris. While we are at it, a neighbor just picked up a 40 hp yamaha that has precision blending on the cowl. I’m thinking since it has an oil tank under the cowl that means no oil needed in fuel because it mixes.
It might be a good idea to mark the oil level on the tank, then run a tank of 50/1 fuel for a while, taking note of the oil level. If the level drops you could assume the system is working. That being said, and having ruined two engines in the past, due to oil pump failure, I always premix now.
…Politicians aren’t the “Oldest Profession”, but the results are still the same!!!
I have a “98” 115hp evinrude and never had any problem with the oil system, but since it is so old would I be safer to disconnet and mix the oil in manually. I keep a check on the oil reservoir and make sure it is using oil but I would assume it would be too late if it did stop working. Also is it very complicated to disconnet for manual mixing. Thanks for all your time on this forum Chris V.
Sometimes it does and sometimes it does not. I cleaned the connections on the back of the tack and it didn’t help. Is it possible to still buy these? Again thanks for all your help on this forum.
Do ya’ll have them, I go past your place everyday going to work. I’m not too savvy ordering stuff on the internet and would like to keep my business local.
Marsh-picker, that motor is getting kinda’ long in the tooth, don’t ya’ think? I don’t know if I’d spend $180 on her. You aught to upgrade and sell me your carbs and exhaust parts. /sarcasm
Marsh-picker, I agree. The old Johnsons seem to rum forever. Was just kidding in previous post. Have another thread about converting my 1995 Johnson 88spl to a 115. Chris says I would need carbs and exhaust. 'Was just kidding you a little since yours might be a perfect fit.
