Christmas Eve help

Someone in a yellow hull boat saved my Christmas Eve and I wanted to say a humble ‘Thank you’. I had a rough day on the water after I decided to explore unfamiliar water behind Goat Island with my daughter on board.

After running into a submerged oyster bed, unbeaching the boat, and bumping into several others the captain of the yellow boat pointed me in the right direction. Needless to say it wasn’t the same direction where I came in from. It was outgoing tide and I was probably within minutes of getting stranded until high tide rolled in. We were still able to make it to the Christmas Eve service with the family which wouldn’t have been possible without his help.

I’ve been boating in Charleston my whole life but recently got into inshore fishing with a smaller boat. I was embarrassed to be ‘that guy’ but very appreciative of the help.

Hey, boat long enough and it happens to almost everyone. Good on you for saying thanks.
