Thanks!

Plan on making the trip for the first time this summer , thinking about staying at Marina Inn @ Grande Dunes nice marina and not far from Barefoot at the Beach all can be reached by boat, some friends made the trip last year and said it was easy ICW all the way.

Never been to Myrtle by boat, but been to Litchfield many times which is close to Myrtle. I’m not much of a fan of Myrtle so I can’t really comment on that, but staying in Litchfield and docking your boat at the Reserve is a fun fun trip. Beaufort and Hilton Head are nice as well. All of the above are easy trips with a decent GPS. Try and make the trip at high tide, much less stressful.
Any places on Pawleys Island? Also, how long does it take and is there available fueling stations? I’m going to be doing it in a 21ft SeaHunt T-top. Thanks in advance!
If I were ya’ll I would look at staying at Barefoot landing resort, They have an awesome condo setup thing with a great pool area and grounds for cornhole and vollieball. they have a great restaurant on property and the marina is safe, clean and right across the waterway from Barefoot landing shopping and lots of restaurants there. you can do it all out of your boat and never touch a car. Grand dunes is nice there is just not much around it in walking distance or anything to do, and uber stuffy.

x2 on Barefoot. I stayed there when Dad and I were bringing the Sundancer down the ICW from Annapolis. If you want something a little more low key, try Wacca Wache. It is in between Pawley’s and Murrell’s. Nice little marina with great people and a nice little bar. If you are doing a weekend trip, maybe stay there for a night and it’s only a short cruise up to Barefoot/Myrtle. Hope that helps.
FYI, the markers in the ICW up there are notoriously not lit at night. So, if you do any nighttime cruising… BEWARE!!! I know this from experience!
EDIT: I forgot you were in a CC, no cabin. Maybe Wacca Wache isn’t the best bet for ya. No lodging that I know of. Sorry man!

Well, the marina at Patriots Point has a hotel with a bar and I hear they are building some more ammenaties there. Would need to cab it to downtown Charleston if you really wanted entertainment though. Or you could just take the boat to Red’s/Water’s Edge. Not much for shopping though.
I’ve been wanting to take my boat to Beaufort or Myrtle for the weekend but I’m a little worried about riding back 2 hours in the pouring rain in a center console. Guess I should invest in curtains.

Does anyone know if they have 1 bedroom condos at Barefoot , how much is it to dock your boat at the marina over night.

Have you called them? That may help.
since this thread is kind of about taking trips with your boat has anyone on here ever towed their boat to the Keys and figured out their compicated fishing regulations? I have studied and called and the facts are still about clear as mud. the mangroves and the backwater have a lot of rules and there are compliance kits like vent kits and certain required equipment and don’t lift the goliath from the water and such… I would like to talk to someone that does it to speed the learning curve…

There are plenty of fuel stops. Marker 350 has a Hampton Inn on the water marina may be separate. I would say it could probably be done in 4 hours obeying all the “no wake” zones. Plan on 6 so you can stop off places to relax/swim/eat. Just before you get to Murrels Inlet there are/were some really shallow spots. I set my depth alarm to 7 ft. to give a little warning. Typically if your are in the middle of the channel you should read 10 ft. The closer you get to Myrtle Beach the narrower the river/channel and it becomes very hard bottom and sides (no soft groundings). The only open water is the Charleston Harbor and Winyah Bay, so even if the wind blows it is a very nice ride.
