Anyone have any experience with chumming for stripers?? I was thinking to pull one of leftover blocks out and try it this winter.

Only time we tried it all we got was gar and catfish. We used some leftover menhaden oil and tried it while night fishing a couple of years ago.
A lot of guys around here will fish cut bait and while fishing they will cut up live herring into chunks and throw this in the water while fishing. Personally I hate cut bait fishing but some guys are very very good at it.

I’m with you on the cut bait fishing. We pull free lines from Nov till April, Do a bit of cut bait fishing in April and May and get in saltwater by mid-May.

I had rather pull freelines than anything. Lot more fun and I can not stand to sit in one spot all day long, my ADD kicks in

My neighbor has one of those Chum tubes made of pvc with a Chopper inside it.Works great!

For fresh or for salt water? The Chum churn works well in salt water, but has anyone used it in Fresh? I am spending $5 a dozen for bbh, and now I am going to put them in the tube and chum them, ? Pretty expensive, … or am I missing something?

My neighbor fishes Murray often and uses a Chum churn successfully at the lake. He keeps left over herring that he doesnt use,keeps them in baggies and freezes them.Seems our bait guy always gives us more than we pay for and we have alot left at the end of the day. Ok. Charlie at the PDQ if you guys must know where to buy bait for Murray! He does ya right! Cost me 18.00 for 3 dozen but he usually gives me 4.5 dozen for that price.
