Circle Hooks required for Sharks?

I was over at THT and posted a picture of the hooks I use when shark fishing and someone said that new regs require use of circle hooks when shark fishing.

All I could find was that the Fed Gov has mandated the use of circle hooks while targeting Dusky’s, but since it’s impossible to discriminate which kind of shark will get caught, that it’s a good idea to go 100% circles. I’ve also found that NY is requiring circle hooks for all sharks.

Never seen or heard of a Dusky in harbor or jetties. But anyway…has SC adopted the circle hook requirement for shark fishing? I can’t find anything…anybody know?

I don’t think so, but it could possibly change when the new Regs come out for 2018-2019 season.
