What does everyone favor for bait fishing just off the bottom? Circle or regular hooks? Really like circles for catfish - just leave them in the rod holder.

circles are hard to beat at times, ford but you need to make sure taht you get the right size and the right brand. I like a circle with a larger gap than the traditional circle with the extremely narrow gap.
Every hook has its place and time, but it’s hard to beat a good circle hook. I agree with finnaddict, make sure you use a large
enough hook to ensure a good hookup. Circles are great on or near
the bottom, They don’t get snagged on stuff as bad.
DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!
The harder you work, the luckier you’ll get.
Circles by Gomagahu or Eagle are hard to beat. Last weekend by partner got on on, then I got one on then three more got on. Five at a time, all nice size. No way we could have done it without circles.

Thanks for the info. I plan to wet a hook soon on Wateree. Sold a motor this weekend to a guy that fished there last 50 yrs. We swapped some hole locations. Big crappies and rockfish are coming in just off bottom in about 20-24’ of water on minnows. I’m iching to drop some cut bait on circles and try for some stripers. He claim a 3" chartruse curly tail jig also will mop them up just off bottom once you find them.
