City Paper Best Fishing Charter

So am I the only one who read this and thought, “Who is Charleston Outdoor Adventures?” Turns out it’s mostly a Kayak rental and scenic guide service, that offers fishing charters. Complete CRAP, I’m not a guide but I have friends that are and I know there are hundreds of guides in Charleston that bust their tail to make a living and I feel like it’s kind of a slap in the face for the people who know anything about fishing. Sorry if I offended anyone but I needed to get it off of my chest.

It sure sounds an awful lot like Adventure Outdoors, maybe its a misprint or you are just reading it wrong.

That's the name of my business. I will hand it to those kids, last year at the party I asked them about wearing buffs at night and we got a good chuckle out of it. Then they told me they were going to win it next year, and they did. Congrats to them. They will get 0.0 business with that distinction.

Best of is a good marketing thing for the City Paper. They give out awards in 350 categories and then hit up the winners for ads ranging from $250-2500 dollars wanting you to say Thanks to the people that voted. I didn’t place the ad last year.

What a way to make an enterance with your 2 posts. Ask for advice and then follow that up with a slam dunk[:0].

Never asked for advice or followed with any slam dunk, I just wanted to hear other opinions on the topic. May not matter to you one way or the other, but if it doesn’t matter why read what I wrote or respond to it.

They do know how to flood Folly Creek with novice yak’ers heading in all different directions, but mostly spread across the middle of the channel. They are very good at that, can’t be denied.

Most of those “Best of” are popularity contests or they get friends/family etc to vote over and over. Half the ones that win in Columbia are like WTH?

2015 charleson outdoor adventures…

2014 charleston adventure outdoors ?

How can someone use a name so close ? One has to wonder who many votes where placed wrong ? It just does not seem right to have a competitor use a name that has been around for years.

ding ding ding…would be my thoughts exactly…

The Morris Island Lighthouse www.savethelight.org

The COA guys run a tight ship. I deal with them on a regular basis. They must be doing quite a few charters because they buy ALOT of bait.

experience noun \ik-#712;spir–#601;n(t)s

  1. the fact or state of having been affected by or gained knowledge through direct observation or participation

  2. that thing you get just moments after you needed it.

Charleston Outdoor Adventures is infringing on common law trademark rights IMO. Adventure Outdoors has been around much longer, and Outdoor Adventures is surely confusingly similar which is the baseline for infringement cases. Fritz has a strong case if he wants to pursue. Again, this is just my opinion, but I have been through many experiences in the department of intellectual property infringement.

all I know is if im going to pay for a charter in Charleston it’s going to be with Robert Olsen… all day… everyday

In my opinion the City Paper is an extremely liberal and mainly BS rag publication with the only redeeming quality of having a decent crossword puzzle that my wife and I do together at Sunday Brunch.
