Just moved down from Myrtle, living in the Ladson/Goose Creek area. I fish out of Kayaks, and sometimes, I have to take the Mrs. with me. Can y’all tell me where I can find some sandbars that may have clams and I can fish from? The Mrs.likes to make clam chowder and it keeps her busy as I am feedin the fish. Have fished Murrells Inlet and North Inlet for years and look fwd to getting to know this area. Thanks!
All fishermen are liars except for you and me, and to tell you the truth brother, I’m not sure about you!
I have seen people clamming on the banks just south of and across from Garris Landing on the ICW. Not sure how the fishing would be right there.
There are clams on the banks that DFreedom mentioned. Generally larger clams lower down and smaller clams higher up the bank. The bank is not too muddy; sink in an inch or so. You should note that this is the ICW and not the beach.
I have seem a few pretty sandbars closer to the ocean but not found clams there. I find clams in the mud and on shell banks with alot of dead shell.
Thanks guys. My wife finds the small ones walkin barefoot on sand bars.

do not go barefoot here!!! you will end up with very nasty and infection prone oyster cuts!
