I took a co-worker who rarely has the opportunity to go catch the stripes to the upper end of Clark Hill hoping to get on the hybrids that were on fire the last time I went there. It was a pretty dissapointing morning behind the Russell dam so I moved to a different area and we managed to get him his biggest fish ever. Not sure how much it weighed but we snapped a few pics and I speared the fish back in the water and it swam right back down to the bottom where I found them in about 40 FOW. We did manage a few hybrids also but nothing like it has been. A bad morning turned out to be pretty good after all.
I think the moon meesed the fishing up Sunday morning. I didn’t see the schooling activity I normally see in that area but I know of someone else that loaded the boat on the other end. I went over there 3 weeks ago and limited out in about 2 hours.
10-4 on the moon Sunday morning. On Murray, we were marking the crud out of fish, but could only catch 9. They were biting very sheepishly.
As for the Hill, I think the lower pool offers better odds at loading the box this time of year. However, on the upper, it’s usually going to be big when you do hook up. That’s our dilemma when fishing a tournament on that lake.
