Clark Hill

Last minute camping trip idea and couldn’t get site at Dreher Island. So went to Clark Hill for first time.
Caught 1 hybrid and 1 stiper both about five pounds. Was overwhelmed by the size of the lake.Probaly saw 20 boats all weekend.
Would like to go again but think I will hire a guide for 1 trip so I can learn a little about the lake.
Bought bait from tackle shop on hwy 378 and they were great with advice and tips.

Where did you stay on the Hill? I used to fish the lower end a good bit, but moved to the Lake Murray area. Wish I were still down there for the fishing. I mostly fished the lower end b\c of water levels. Georgia Little River and Keg Creek are good areas. Mostly trolled umbrella rigs. Nailed a 28# on rigs near Fort Gordon area. Lake has some mules. Good luck.

I have been wanting to go there for a while. I think I will wait until I get a more reliable boat. I would hate to tow my tank all the way there and have it break down. Maybe coolbreeze or triton will take me:smiley:

Fished around hickory knob state park.Didn’t go far from where we camped.Going to try to fish it more. Steelytom if you want to go with us some time give me a holler.Always looking for good people to fish with.I fish Murray alot with sharky when we are not at the coast.Hope to fish Murray sat.Think I am going to wait and come down in the afternoon and fish the late bite.Getting to old to get up at 3 am,or maybe to lazy

tom you would enjoy fishing with sparky.he’s alot of fun to be around.

Read the fine print sharky, he said he is looking for GOOD people. But if he is looking anyone I’ll fish with him. I think I might rejoin MSC and fish the tournament saturday morning. now that my twins are two my leash is getting longer. So I figure I’ll be able to fish more tournaments. Of course all of this depends on my boat running. Right now it’s max speed is 8mph and 2000 rpms.

hey steely; you stole my thunder on the “looking for good” people thingy. hey; me or triton might take you if you ever considered giving us a call. WE HAVE FEELINGS! i will not be crappie killing this weekend. i have a group of 16 in from darlington for our anual AMATEUR GOLFING; PROFESSIONAL BEER DRINKING B.S. SESSION. believe me when i say professional on the latter two goals. it will be a bunch of laughs and fun. my son; jeremy may be out sat. he is going to the everglades with my boat next thur-mon for bream, oscars, crappie and talapia. he and his buddy should have a big time.

Phishinphan actually has a pass this weekend. we are going to head out saturday evening. Oh, my phone receives calls too. We need to get the flotilla out some day soon. Seems like some bigger fish are being caught. I just need to find them.

steely -if u ever want give the hill a try just pm me -i’m on it almost every weekend-we usually fish nites only this time of year till it gets really cold again-will be goin tonite for sure -but the boat is full on this trip (gotta take my boss-that way he wont mind me getting off early!!)

Thanks, I will probably take you up on that. I need to go out and get some big fish. I have not caught a fish over 26" in a year. I have even considered giving up catching real fish and going for crappies like coolbreeze:face_with_head_bandage:

ok guys…new to striper fishing here…have joined MSC to learn more…I have never fished Clark Hill…so, anytime/anyone is willing to take a rookie…day or night fishing…let me know…I will share in gas and bait cost…

Warning: my luck is not the best in the world…every person in MSC that has taken me fishing…does not catch any fish…

well i’m not going to promise any huge fish but we usually get at least one or two nice ones (over 15lbs) in the boat --had to eat one on the bank two weekends ago -my son turned on all of the accesories (lights, bilge ) on the boat while i was at work -when i came home he said he had just turned them on so i didnt worry about it -it started fine but when we tried to crank up and leave round 10 pm she wouldnt start:face_with_head_bandage:-tried to flag down two boats that passed by us by flashing the lights on n off -one slowed down but never got close enough to see if everything was alright -floated to bussey point started a fire and roasted a striper -not the best nights sleep but we’re still alive-BIG thanks to the guys that came by the next morning and jumped us off-bought a new battery and another flare gun the next day-we all need to keep a eye out for people in distress on the water - guess the guy that slowed down just didnt want to be bothered with us - hope they never find themselves in that situation-its a bad feeling to see the possibility of help drive away !! not trying to hijack the thread --just maybe they r reading this and will think about it

hey steely; you can act like my crappie are not real fish if you want to but my ■■■■ freezer is slap full of fillets.what you got in yours? keep it up yankee boy. we know where you live and will come over and hurt your animals. if your phone receives calls then check the incoming and you will see that i made the last two.(not that anybody is counting) hope you and phan catch some. let me know.

by the way; YOU PROBABLY CAN’T HANDLE THE CRAPPIE!

Maybe I can’t, but I would not mind trying. By the way there are a few striper fillets in my freezer and I have thrown back the last two keepers. Send me your number again. I got a new phone and my boy wrecked my old one.
