Thinking of trying out the hill tomorrow nite. This will be my first trip there this year and iam really looking forward to it . Does anyone know what area would be my best bet this time off year. I am thinking of the mudoc area around horseshoe island or maybe the dam area . Not looking fo anyone honey hole just a general area. Thanks in advance for any help.

Let me know how you do. I was thinking of taking a trip to the hill shortly as well. I went there in May for am 4 day trip and did poorly.
Seapro, your thinking is correct. Try points and humps in 50-65 feet. Chum and drum and they will eventually get on you. We have caught plenty of fish from 3-15 pounds in the areas you mention this summer. Of course, the Russell Dam area affords a greater chance at behmoths with fewer bites. However, the lower lake has been fun lately!

Yep. I’m coming over on Sunday morning and will be downrodding the lower lake. You still going to be there? Should be on the water around 7 AM and will give you a call.

Thanks fogman for the tips and thx shipwreck for the report. I decided to make the trip on over to the hill. Got on the water about a hour before dark. Water temp 87.7 Marked fish in 30 to 55 fow near air lines. Like shipwreck said slow slow slow.We only managed couple of weak pulldowns no fish caught. It was like after dark the fish just vanished. Tried several different areas and just could not find them. Maybe I should bave tried closer to the dam or Georgia Little River.Hope you all have better luck Sunday.
