Anyone have a link to water temps and locations on the hill? I have murray’s saved on my phone through sceg’s website. But with the hill being a corps ran lake do they have a site like this?
Headed down there this weekend to prefish for the SBCC. Planning on looking around the lower lake. That will be my first time on the hill below Dorn. Gotta find something new. The tailrace up top just hasnt produced for me the last couple of trips down there. Any suggestions to look around on the lower end?

usgs 02193900 - not a direct link but it is the station by the o2 system in plum branch-- look around i-20 island -keg crk- yacht club --have caught some nice fish this time of yr in that area–bait cove by the dam is full of dink hybrids–i beleive too much pressure on the upper end has really hurt the fish since the water has come back up–wish all these clubs around here would start implementing no-keep tourneys–its a shame to see so many fish pulled out of that area just to be killed for nothing–used to be the only place i could be pretty sure i could take my boys to hook into a nice fish and we always let them go after a pic–maybe the water will go back down so the pressure will be off of them again for a while–not too many people will go up there if it gets low --too dangerous
Thanks for the info. I dont usually use herring unless I am pre fishing. I usually buy at palmetto angler but that is really out of the way. Heard there was another shop on lower end think it is called the herring hut? Are they a good shop with good bait? Trout? I have gizzards so no need for them.

yep -herring hut and palmetto are both affiliated with one another --same bait-- not sure if the hut has trout but the # is 1 864-333-2000–never had any problems with their bait–always good and “cured out”—its on hwy 28 past the turn to go to the dam/visitors center–go past the store and pull up to it from the southern end or you will mess up the line for bait
