I get to go fishing on Sunday and Monday. Has anybody heard how the Striper are doing at Clarks Hill?
Sorry for the late reply. Night fishing is at the dam. Guys are going with cut bait or live.
Early morning or late day, points are still procuding. I would have done well thrusday late afternoon (or think I would have done well) slow trolling in Church Cove. First bait out, first 8 lb’er, before we could get the second bait out. Then the trolling motor died. End of story. Also found fish in engineers cove on the points in around 20 feet when I checked it at night.
Good luck, sorry if this is to late to help.

Went twice Mon and Tues late evening at the ■■■■. No luck at all. I am begining to think Striper fishing is not as easy as it looks. Since moving to Augusta…I am a dismal 0 for 5. Any tipsfor a beginer are greatly appreciated.

The good news and the bad. The striper fishing right now is pretty tuff. The lake is turning over, which means there is no specific level that holds the right amount of O2 for stripers. This allows them to swim all over the place, rather than be grouped up. The guides are also having trouble finding fish.
Mims creek had fish over the weekend. They might still be there. Across from there is Cherokee, if you look at a map, there is an underwater island that might provide you with some luck.
I won’t be out for two weeks (going to the coast on Firday, then AllStar baseball will be in full swing)
If you want to fish send me an email, we can hook up. I don’t know much, but will be happy to share what I do.
And you are right, it is a lot harder than it looks. Makes you really apreciate a guy that consistantly goes out and puts 20 or 30 fish in the boat. The secret … they are out all the time hunting.
