Unfortunately, my HVAC wasn’t doing what it needed to do on the cool side… that led to a new unit and an addition of a new return in the house. Unfortunately, my bedroom, oddly the room closest to the unit, still stays much warmer than the rest of the home.
HVAC man says, “Just gimme another $2-3,000 and we’ll redo the ductwork for you.” Well, I forgot to money my water tree out back and it died…
Would having the ductwork cleaned make much of a difference?
Are you able to access the duct under the register? if so you may wanna look for a hole in the flex duct or if it’s hard pipe it may have came loose you will have to tape it up to seal the hole.Hopes this helps.
Double D.
Not an AC man T-Loco, but if you can look yourself and see if something obvious is going on.
Had a room doing same thing (attic ducts) and it was a board that was placed across/over duct running to one room restricting flow. Removed it as it was not needed and all is well.
I’m sure some pro’s will chime in on this.
Good luck!

Thanks for the reply, guys, but I just removed the register and id a hand search in the ductwork as far as I could manage to reach and no blockages. Some old, crud/debris did come out after I rubbed the walls of the duct, so will be getting them cleaned anyways…
The air coming out is cold, just not that forceful.
Turkey… the other white meat.
Any more ideas people…

Woo Hoo - another HVAC disaster, imagine that
it appears you have an air flow issue, or maybe not, cleaning the duct may or may not help
does the air flow (volume & velocity) seem to be the same as in the past?
package unit or split system? if split system were both components changed?
tonnage of old and new units?
why was another return added?
SCE&G or Co-Op?
heat pump or gas unit?
how old was the old unit?
brand of old and new units?
has anything else in the house changed? windows, doors, square footage, added duct runs, etc.
