Clemson v. FSU

Lot to be proud of, but it’s hard to take away that moral victory from a game where your team repeatedly shot itself in the foot.

Extremely frustrated, but not as disappointed as some folks seem.

Win and lose as a team. Our strengths and weaknesses are obvious now, as are FSU’s.

Pain, what are you proud of?

Did you watch any of the Clemson-FSU game?

I watched yours when ours wasn’t started and when we were in commercials.

Most of it yes. I just want to know what you liked.

I liked the dominant play of our defense and the confident execution of our freshman QB in the situation where he got his chance. We have a freshman CB also who shut down their best receiver except for the one bust where he fell down and the single coverage bit us. We held them to under 20yds rushing for 4 quarters. Something like 10 or 12 tackles for loss. Got two turnovers and were able to run the ball decently (good enough) until in the 4th quarter when we couldn’t hold onto it. Points weren’t scored when they should have been and the mistakes like the high snap, turnover, missed wide open TD throws or missed blocks on scoring plays called up became amplified. We would have lost by 3 scored as predicted if not for our defense. They would have played the same way IMO no matter who their QB was except maybe some of the bad decisions by their QB- maybe. Winston hasn’t had to play from behind much when his team couldn’t run the ball either… Whatever though. I don’t see how the defense could have left much more on that field than they did- nor D.W.

I saw a few BS calls, but they aren’t why we lost. Offense blew easy opportunities and there is a major mental issue with our scholarship kicker that has to be corrected.

You realize that if FJ played, that score would have been similar to last year, right?

Orange colored glasses, ridiculous.

You are 1-2 with your only win coming over Burk High School…

I’ll be the first one to tell you that Watson has incredible potential, but this is a rebuilding year for Clemson regardless of what the fans want to believe.

The good news is that with South Carolina’s defense being so terrible, the Tigers have a great shot at ending that

I actually agree on Alexander. That guy seems to have the tools.

Also agree on Winston not mattering that much. He was not impressive against OK State, and I don’t feel like he’s showed much without Benjamin around (even though he still has plenty of other weapons).

Disagree a little on Watson. He may turn out to be great, but I haven’t seen anything yet that justifies the hype. Granted he’s just a freshman, but I need to see some more before I’m a a believer.

I totally agree. That game sould have never went into overtime and FSU should have been at least 2 scores behind when Clemson’s defense stopped clicking in the 4th… Terrible mistakes on offense that cost us points… Nothing other to say than we beat ourselves… SMDH…

You are 1

I have said many time that I thought Clemson had a chance even with JW. But I was wrong. The backup QB with only 16 completions to his name put up over 300 yards.

All I can say is I wish crablegs would have got to play that game. He would have got much less face time on tv. Made me sick that they kept showing his dumb ass every time something happened.
