Fished 3 hours 8-11am. Caught 18. Mostly shorts. 14 of 18 fish on the yumbrella and umbrella with swim Shad rigs I just got last night. 4 on downrigger. Nothing on bucktail. No Gar. Fished Hawleek to a good ways below the elbow. I was solo so wasn’t too mad at short fish being as active as they were catching 3 doubles.

Great day of fishing!
I use those same 4" storm swimbaits from Wallyworld a bunch, especially on some rigs that I been buying for some time from a guy on eBay… kc schoolem…they are a lighter weight gauge wire umbrella, prerigged with swivels, also with blades and really do good when casting with larger spinning rods…they also work with some trolling weights or planers when trolling…only 8-12" spread.
Went fishing outside of Susie Elbert near coast guard station late this afternoon, cold and windy fishing solo, for 1.5 hrs, caught at least 12 so on 20" umbrellas rigged with 5-6" swimbaits, largest fish was 27", all released healthy. They seemed to prefer chartreuse color…
Thanks for the report Zebco. I’ve been waiting for fish to move in Hollow creek (where I live). I haven’t heard or seen any fish but it’s been a little while since I fished it. Glad to hear they are in ballentine. Definitely good info to have. What depth water were you fishing in?

Anywhere from 15-50 feet…most caught in open water about 40 ft.
Same here Zebco. Sounds like change of pace trip to Ballentine May Be in my future. Haven’t fished there since March/April.

I definitely can cover more water to find fish but unless they’re suspended in 30 FOW or deeper I’ll never find them this way. Gotten lucky the last week. Got 2 prefishing days before Saturday’s tournament. Fingers crossed all this fishing pays off
