Got an early start before sunrise and made it to one of my creeks and trolled into it and jigged for about 45 mins with no luck. while coming out the creek decided to fish the mouth of the creek just before the tide turned and started picking up a few slot fish and as the tide started moving the bite picked up. Kept 3 nice slot fish and lost a beauty at the boat farting around trying to get to my net. Released at least 20+ trout on a steady bite for at least an hour or so.Back to the house for clean up and off to work
SWEET!!..good on ya for releasing the trout!!!..Not sure if they have fully recovered from the last 2 cold winters…DNR says it’s ok to keep them now after they’ve spawed out however, I personally think it’s best to wait on keeping any untill after we see what this winter will be like and what might happen to the population if we have yet another COLD A$$ winter!!
livin life one day at a time!!!

what was the bait/lure of choice? same ringer worms from the other day? I’m taking the brother in-law out to Bushy friday morning. Hoping to get him on some spots and trout
The bait of choice was salt and pepper ringer worm and also muddies under a babber. The success was with the ringer worm and fishing deep. They were either hitting deep or as it was coming shallow to the boat. it was like fishing a wedge (wash out)with a deep drop in the middle and high on both edges.
As for you Bugs, the release was for that purpose that we have a much better fishing opportunity to get bigger fish provided we don’t have the same type winter as last year. Had to get away from the manhadens today and had much better luck. tried DOA, top water, a few rattler but the ringers of different colors worked best.
yellow has produced at times but the trout bite is somewhat fidgety at times. Enjoy, Guess I’ll get out on Sunday doing the offshore bottom fishing on Saturday.
