Cast Away Baits

thanks for the offer Jim. I know the club would enjoy your presentation and an opportunity to pick your brain about the Lake Lanier fishery as well. Are you bounty hunting these days? I hear there’s a big reward for a 50lb Lake Lanier striper…

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

Hey Woody, no problem on the offer. Happy to do it for ya’ll. I am not bounty hunting too much yet, still early for my secret holes, although there was a 44 caught on the lake yesterday. I’ve been pretty busy with tackle lately. I’m one of the original founders of the bounty, along with Angler mag and our main sponsor, Sweetwater Brewery. We figured it would be good exposure for the lake and good for business for the bait shops. If someone wins I’m out $500.00 and a free weekend stay at my lake house. You coming this way anytime soon?

It’s definitely been too long since I’ve fished Lanier. Some of my favorite spots there are just gettin ready to go off… I might see if some guys up here are interested in a 2 day bounty hunter trip…I still haven’t seen the new Hammonds store. Thats how long its been for me…lol

Man Woody, I may put Hammonds out of business before you get to see their pretty new store. lol. Listen man, you guys should come over for a few days this summer, stay in the cabin and well do a little trolling and downlining some of the big boys. We got some big 20-35 pounders last summer. We had a blast.

Woohoo…I’m in…I’ll call you and we can look at some tentative dates soon. Your website is looking great. I want you to get me caught up on the “Georgia-rig” fishing. My buddies the Rufo twins are slaying the teenage fish down on West Point casting A-rigs. I know I could be doing the same here if I just spent a little more time learning the technique. Loving your big paddle tail swimbaits too. You have a lot of creativity for design and the color combos are awesome.

I have always wanted to fish Lanier maybe we can get a group together and go. What say all?

That would be awesome if ya’ll wanted to put a group together and hit Lanier for a few days. Our cabin sleep 6-8. If you had a little extra cash to put together, we could get my buddy Jeff Blair of Lake Lanier Striper Charters http://www.lakelanierstripercharters.com/ and do a competition for one day. We do it for corporate trips and go head to head against each other. He bait fishes and I troll. He usually waxes my butt. It’s a lot of fun though. Everybody swaps boats halfway through the trip.

Woody, my cabin has a gas grill so you won’t bring new meaning to “Burnin down the house” again. lol

haha Everybody likes a nice fire in the evening… but yeah it probably shouldn’t include the deck to a cabin…Fun times for sure… Donnie, apparently we are a little slow making plans for Lanier. I went to Clay Cunningham’s website to see what he has been catching lately and found pictures of these MSC members with nice Lanier fish… http://www.lakelanierguide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/26031/Last_Few_Days.html#Post26031 I haven’t talked with Blair in a long time but it’s no surprise that he’s still whacking the fish… Tell him I said hello…
