The old “hole in the back of the boat” aka forgot to put plug in? Hope they salvaged the rig.

It was all over the radio this morning. Sounded like they had another boat on the scene just a few minutes after coast guard first reported it. It was a little bumpy just outside the rocks and it was a dark dark ride out. Glad they were OK. I can imagine it was scary.

Had the same thing happen to my boat last year, I was messing with the wash down pump the day prior and didn’t tighten everything back. Came loose and the high speed pickup filled up the bildge fast. Boat started acting sluggish and we stopped in the jetties to look. Luckily I was able to fix it and after twenty minutes of sitting and waiting for the pump to get all the water out and verified the issue was truly fixed, we finally were able to head offshore. Panic in a situation like that could turn bad quickly.

As a 21 CC owner, perhaps I could learn something.

still waiting for hand to heal after surgery. Stitches come out Thursday, look out Saturday.

fish today work tomorrow

Stuck around these guys until the coasties arrived looked like a an old renken or something , had an I/O and some makeshift rod holders and a cooler strapped to the back . It was not a cc and trust me it wasn’t the plug out, they were bailing with a 5 gallon bucket and had bilge pumping.
