Cobia on the troll 8/15

Posting this for a friend who can’t seemt to figure out photobucket and wanted to share this odd catch.

They were trolling down south in about 300’ of water, had a pretty slow day overall but had this cobia hit a blue/white island on the way back. They cleaned the cobia and it had bunch of undigested crabs in his stomach. Must have gotten lost or something?

Later in the afternoon they had a blue smash the same blue/white islander but lost him in the first minute.

Just a comment, ecer notice how the Cobia offshore are blue/grey or blue/white and inshore they are brown? Very interesting thought, camouflage fish?

got one about a month ago in 150 foot of water trolling a drone spoon.

Not sure how lost he really was. Cobia migrate North in the spring.Their southern migration in the fall is supposed to be much further offshore.

My neighbor caught a nice cobia on a trolled skirted ballyhoo on Sunday between SWBanks and Outcrop.
