Cobia

Was wondering if anybody had any thoughts on how to have a successful Cobia trip? Going to the broad river Saturday to try our luck. I did grab a hot spot map and it looks to be pretty helpful. Gonna try and sabiki some live bait, maybe around the bridge or down by the reef.

Talked to a buddy of mine who lives ther last weekend and he said the bite was real slow. Not a lot of boats out there like usual. He suppose to call when it picks up. But I like to go straight off of parris island, if you look for a little boat landing on PI side your in the right spot, there’s usually boats out there, the bridge stays too crowded for me and everyone thinks your catching their fish. Not worth the hassle. Good luck, let us know if you do any good. Hope this helps a little.

Always remember, It could suck worse than this…

Beer… Plenty of ice! You’re welcome!

they’re really not inshore very much this year. if it’s a successful cobia trip you’re looking for, hit every reef and buoy between the beach and 90’.

menhaden were easy to get inshore last week, but they’re not very big. sabiki produced nothing, same for the surface/bottom chum combo and a 4 rod spread… even sharks were few and far between. hopefully luck will change after our new moon today, be sure to post a report!
