Had my first taste of this courtesy of Fishnbug…now I love the stuff…did a little research because I couldnt remember what all she said went in it…and heres a easy recipe for it, Use fritos!!!crumble on top and mix in …not as good with regular tortilla chips kind you use for salsa…and dont forget the grated cheese!!
mmmmmmmm…you’re going to love it!
2 pounds ground beef
brown in skillet and then drain off fat
add in all of the following ingredients
1 (1.25 ounce) package taco seasoning mix (med/mild/or hot)
1 1/2 cups water
1 (15 ounce) can mild chili beans
1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn, drained
1 (15 oz) can black beans
1 (15 ounce) can pinto beans, rinsed and drained
1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed or diced tomatoes
1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes with green chile peppers
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chilies(or add what you want of these)
1 (1 ounce) package ranch salad dressing
cover and simmer
add a dash of your favorite hot sauce for a little extra zap
(I made a little homemade salsa also)
thanks fishnbug…this is one of my new favorite soups:smiley:
That is my Dads favorite recipe to make. We call it “Fiesta Soup” or “Frito Soup” cause it is so good with Frito’s. The only difference is, he puts a diced onion in it and uses Rotell for the can tomato. He also swears its not as good without shoe peg corn so I have only had that.
I freeze it in pint containers and pull it out when I am hungry and feeling lazy.
Oh yea. It is also good over bow tie pasta with a little sour cream.
My wife makes that and its awesome. She got the recipe while on Weight Watchers and they called it WW Chili. She also keeps pint size containers in the freezer, which was their portion recommendation. I recommend about 3 portions and a nap:smiley:! I’m gonna try the pasta thing, though!
