Cold Temps

With the freezing or close to freezing lows at the coast I wonder how that will impact the fish? Monday looks to be a nice day in the mid 50s for the high & I may be able to get off work & head down for some fishing.
Just curious what you guys think the bite will be like after these low temps?

My experience has been good but you need to fish your jig a little slower. Kind of twitch, twitch, pause, pause, twitch and a slow hit. Good luck

The trout are still biting. I find it easier if I find a spot where the water is moving slightly away from me, so that there’s always tension on the line. Then its twitch twitch and then as much as 3-4 seconds of pause. The bite is very soft right now for me. Suspending baits middle of the column and closer to the bottom. Haven’t had a topwater strike in a few weeks.

Thanks guys, that helps a lot.

Do you think they will have moved to deeper water as well?

Most of my bites are near or on top of structure in 5-6’ of water. I try to keep it a foot or two off the bottom.

Appreciate all the help guys.
I’ll let you know how it was if I get to go.

Back when I used to fish, I learned slow, slow, slow, on the retrieve when the temps drop. Thanks Muffinman.
