Just wondering if any of you change out your fly lines when the water temp drops. I’m still relatively new to the fly game and am wondering how much stiffer the line may get in cold water. Any ideas or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Yes there is a difference and stay away from bonefish or tarpon lines in cold weather!
Lines with a warm water coating and cold water core work best for around here in the winter, work just fine in the summer also. SI coldwater redfish line, RIO redfish line, and RIO saltwater taper all work very well for around here during the winter.
