cold weather

This is my first full year fishing my kayak instead of my center console. I’ve found a spot with a friend off of Oak Island by Folly that the past 5 times (and only times) I’ve been there I’ve caught and had unbelievable redfish action about 30-45 minutes after dead high for about 2 hours. Today, we had nothing. We were there at 7 a.m. this morning waiting for the tide fall and only caught one small red. The past 5 times we’ve fished the spot has been afternoon high to low tides. Just looking for opinions of whether it’s the cold spell last week or the early morning high tide that can hurt the fishing.
