Colleton River

Just wondering if anyone has tried it there or blufton?

I’ve been wondering the same. Good luck getting a answer from anyone down that way.

If you go straight out of Colleton river Dawes Iland is a good place to set up. Look for the palm trees to the left of the creek coming off Dawes.

post this under the forum sub-heading for Beaufort and they will respond.

I went to the “community hole” (my name for the stretch that everyone likes to set up on at Victoria Bluff) the first full week of the season and was the only boat there. It rained cats and dogs and we caught 3 shrimp. Not quarts, shrimp. That was 2 weeks ago so maybe things have changed. Land’s End was not any better.

Run strait out from the Colleton to Dawes you could end up on a bar. I have a connection down there with nothing really good to report yet.

Thanks!! That area has always been one of my favorite places! Seems like the last two years has been like that down there!

Shrimped there this morning at low incoming tide without much luck. Single digits per cast. Too much work for that amount of shrimp IMO.

I went to Colleton River 4 times last week. Shrimp were larger there than this time last year but still very mixed. Tried a few different places with the same results. Strong first run then tapering off. Averaged 1/2 cooler per night. However, we never made over seven runs in a night. People coming in from Gilbert Flat had nothing at all. Hope that helps
