Have any of you put your yak in Colonial Lake? Is it legal?
Where’s that at?
Fresh fish tastes much better than fresh kissed butt…
Downtown. Rutledge Ave. I can’t say I’ve ever seen anyone Kayaking around there.
no, but there’s a retention pond in my neighbood that looks good.
but seriously, i hope your joking. there is so many good spots to kayak in charleston. just ask if you need suggestions.
palmettobum, OK can you email me some good locations?
Good grief man… Go to Google Earth or Wikimapia and just look. There are a bazillion places to fish around here… Find a boat ramp on one of the rivers and start exploring… look for points and structure and hit it… ANY where is pretty much good…

hey nikon, wikimapia is friggin sweet, as good as google earth, but a lot easier and less of a resource hog. thanks for the tip!
fush- you have mail. but nj is right, pretty much anywhere with water is good kayaking. but i would stay clear of colonial lake. unless you want to be ‘that guy’ who goes kayaking in a retention pond 2 blocks from the harbor.
When I am stuck herea t work without even a window I LIVE on Wikimapia… I have Bushy Park prited out and mosaiced on my office wall, it’s about 4 feet high and 3 feet wide, so I can keep track of my spots and where the fish are/were My boss thinks I am nuts but then again he don’t fish…

If your in WA you can go to the county park. There you wouldn’t be “that guy”. If your new to yaking (no idea) look up “lowcountry paddlers” they go out just about every weekend. All phases of paddlers. You can also run Church Creek with the tide. I am from S,ville so I don’t know many spots in WA. There is always the big water. Put in on the WA side of the bridge and fish the bank.
Do you want to fish or get used to the yak? If your already yaking, any puddle will do. Some of us travel along way to get to places. You are surrounded by them.
sol legare public landing. lock your car. or under the folly bridge.
paddle to the stono inlet and fish the kiawah side if you like coming up on hundreds of redfish in a session

Someone on one of the other forums states that there is a 45" + Spottail in Colonial Lake that is pretty wise and has not been caught before.
excelsior- it is true i have seen it with my own eyes. that is a BIG SOB. i saw him cruisin on the bank next to beaufain
strip…strip…FISH ON!
Try http://maps.live.com as well. If you use the birds eye view, you can look at one spot from the north, south, east and west. It comes in handy…
Just trying to find `em…</font id=“blue”>
