Does anyone fish in Colonial Lake?
not in 15 years. there used to be big spottail in there. i guess they were landlocked.
'Bout 35 years ago I watched a big woman, sitting on a bucket, swing a flounder overhead onto Lockwood behind her. She was on it like a linebacker. Cars slamming on brakes, it was too funny. Bob

funny picture you painted there bob. i’ve seen some big women sitting out there years ago.
I used to catch flounder there about 15 years ago with a couple of older gents. They stocked it a couple times over the years with bass and had fishing tournaments for kids. We used to fish by the pipe during the incoming tide with mud minnows on corks. I Dont know why there would not be any fish there now.
Reds are still there, used to live at wentworth and gadson, always saw them tailing in the middle, smart fish though never come near the sides I am sure they are always messed with.
I think thats Waffleboys hole you better get permission first:sunglasses:![]()

I actually fell into that lake 50 years ago. I still have nightmares! I was 4.
Bigger, it weirded me out, when I did the math. There was an Exxon station on the corner.

You would be suprised what you can see tailing around in the morning when the tides are low enough. Tried to wade out to them but you will sink dont try it!!
I used to go down there every Thursday when they were putting the new sewer shaft in and saw lots of big reds tailing 20’ from the bank.
quote:Crap! She slung a flounder 500 yards??? That is a heck of an arm!!!

Me thinks, maybe you are talking about that little body of water across the street from the City Marina… Colonial Lake is the one between Ashley and Rutledge.
skinnee My bad! Thanks. It was that tidal body of water with the pipe running under Lockwood. Bob
