Saltwater Striper Fishing

I’ll be back in the Columbia area soon, and I was wondering if now was the time to look for stripers in the Congaree/Saluda. I’m from Georgetown County, and while I consider myself a pretty competent inshore saltwater fisherman, I admittedly don’t know a thing about stripers.

Therefore, any advice would be appreciated, but more than anything, I just want to know if I would be wasting my time if I tried to catch a few in the coming weeks.

Theoretically this is the time. But the numbers are so bad you may catch fish you may not.

And remember, per the new regs, catch and release only for the next few months.

you’re better off bringing your inshore boat and fishing lake murray if you want stripers.
