Wasn’t sure if we were gonna make it today. It was tough finding a crew, but finally I got a call from JSimpson, and we dicided to give it a shot. We didn’t have any hoos, so we had to wait for Haddrell’s to open, so needless to say, we got a late start.
Finally got to Comanche @9:30 and started bottom bumping. Caught some triggers, b-liners, Big Arse Porgies, and a thumping donkey on my small game bottom rig. That was a helluva fight!!
Around 11:30 decided to pull lines for while and started slow with a couple kakus (Hawaiian for cudas) then we started getting a little more action. Ended up with a couple mahi’s, a couple lil’ tunnies, and a couple king’s.
We had a lot of short strikes, and knock downs, so it kept us pretty busy (especially JSimpson–he makes a helluva fishin’ buddy if you ever need any extra).
In all, with the last minute decision and the late start, we had a great time. A little bumpy on the way in and out, but awesome once we got where we were going.
Thanks again, J. I had a blast, and can’t wait til we can do it again!!
Happy boatin’ y’all!!
